Story of the Song

The simple tune of the first two lines "Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi" came into my head one day as I was tapping my feet in the shower (don't ask me why but sometimes I tap my feet in the shower) and I started singing it with Shri Mataji's name. And then the melody of the whole song came together and I had to rush out of the shower to write it down. It was the easiest song I've ever written (maybe because it wasn't really me who wrote it).

This song is about the tremendous blessings we have to be living in this Golden Age after so many lifetimes of seeking. It'd be really wonderful if we can all sing it in the upcoming Ganesha Puja!

Footnotes:

This song is divided into 2 parts. The line "Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi" is to be sung like a background rhythm support throughout the verses (including the last 3 lines), except in the chorus when all the voices join together.

Note that the words in the hand-written score might be slightly different from the typed out version as some minor changes have been made.

We (the Brisbane bhajan group, a.k.a. Sahaja Sangeet) recorded this song at our bhajan practice this week. The tempo was slightly faster than it should be, probably because everyone was kind of hungry at that point, and anticipating for our tea ceremony ritual after the practice. :-) Thanks to all the musicians for their patience and hard work. Hope we'll have the nice opportunity to perform in Balmoral next week!
